{"id":483,"date":"2013-08-19T19:06:46","date_gmt":"2013-08-20T00:06:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/?p=483"},"modified":"2014-10-02T21:20:28","modified_gmt":"2014-10-03T02:20:28","slug":"financial-times-mexicos-oil-reform-to-boost-investment-by-10-billion-a-year","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/2013\/08\/financial-times-mexicos-oil-reform-to-boost-investment-by-10-billion-a-year\/","title":{"rendered":"Financial Times: Mexico&#8217;s Oil Reform to Boost Investment by $10 Billion a Year"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/Mexicos-Oil-Reform.jpg\" alt=\"Mexico&#039;s Oil Reform\" width=\"272\" height=\"153\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-485\" \/>Last week, Financial Times put out an article about the impact that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.topmexicorealestate.com\/brokers\/2013\/08\/mexicos-energy-industry-to-be-opened-for-private-investment\/\" target=\"_blank\">last week&#8217;s reforms of Mexico&#8217;s oil industry<\/a> may have on investment:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>The head of Mexico\u2019s state oil monopoly expects the energy reform announced this week to boost oil investment by $10bn a year, even though the foreign companies that it hopes to attract will not be able to book reserves.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTo hit production forecasts of another 1 million barrels a day, we expect an extra $10bn a year until 2025,\u201d Emilio Lozoya, chief executive of Pemex, said. \u201cSome of that extra investment will come from foreign companies, some from Pemex,\u201d he told the FT in an exclusive telephone interview.<\/p>\n<p>While Enrique Pe\u00f1a Nieto, the president, is in charge of handling the delicate politics of the reform, Mr Lozoya is at the operational hard-end.<\/p>\n<p>It is a formidable task.
