The older, more local village of Chemuyil is a walk or very short bike ride away.  There are a handful of cozy little restaurants and general stores, covering the basics of having something quick nearby.    A new, large supermarket is nearby just off the highway.  Tulum is also a short drive away, where there is a supermarket, banks, handicraft shops, cafes éand restaurants.  There are some classic small-town restaurants like Don Cafeto which is a favorite for all locals (including expats!)  The Cancun International Airport is about 1.5 hours away by means of a nice highway.

Bike Lifestyle

As already mentioned, Chan Chemuyil is a bike community.  There are bikes everywhere, and the people who live here love to get around on bike, within the community, as well as back and forth from Chemuyil village and the beach.  It’s part of the relaxing, neighborly and healthy lifestyle which you can enjoy here, all for a price much lower than you might expect.

Enjoy Monkeys in the Jungle
