Mexico Elections Were Held This Past Sunday

The Mexico real estate markets are facing a little different political scenario after this past Sunday's elections Several state government offices, state representatives, senators and city mayors throughout the nation were voted upon by Mexican citizens The current president's party PAN, took 28% of the votes in the election on 500 lower house posts and the rival party PRI, takes 36% of the vote The political party PRI has taken over the control from their rival PAN in two of the six states in the state government contest The PRI kept control of three other states and lost their power in the last of the six state governments offices.

Mxico real estateAccording to the results, the PRI maintained control of the states of NUEVO LEON, CAMPECHE, and COLIMA They also took the states QUERETARO, and SAN LUIS POTOSI away from the PAN party Another state, with only 90% of total votes accounted, had shown that PAN will have won this title taking it away from the PRI

PRI, has governed Mexico for nearly 70 years in Mexico from 1929 up to the year 2000 when the PAN won the presidency and control with a victory by President Vicente Fox This control was by the blue and white party was repeated again in the year 2006 when Felipe Calderon, the present president of Mexico will continue his term until the year 2012

After this Sunday, the PRI has rule on 19 of the 32 Mexican states, the PAN has control of 7 states, and the PRD has six
