December 12th is the day of La Morenita, our Lady of Guadalupe People throughout Mexico take a trip to Mexico City to the Basilica de Guadalupe, this is where the miracle image of Lady of Guadalupe has been placed and kept.Hundreds of thousands of people arrive walking, on bicycles, and on their knees traveling from all parts of Mexico, some hundreds of miles away, others from the same capital.Regardless of their origin or the church of destination of thier Pilgrimage, it is a massive celebration throughout Mexico.
Here in Playa del Carmen on the Mexican Caribbean, the same pilgrimage was practiced through the tourist filled streets of the downtown zones People and children walked through the streets from the far south end to the north side of Playa del Carmen to the Catholic Church off of 30th Avenue
