Public bidding to initiate the process and grant the concession to build, run and manage the RIVIERA MAYA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT is underway. As noted before, the Tulum Real Estate market will receive extraordinary benefits from the introduction of these mega operation and runways.
In an official publication and release SCT/DGAC/ARM/2010 the SCT
(Federal Communications and transportation Administration) announced on Tuesday that the Bidding has now been published in the official paper.
The new Tulum Airport is
expected to receive 700,000 passengers the first year and to reach 3 million pax in its third year, the concession will be granted in the “Greenfield†modality meaning that it will be from scratch. It will be sitting on a 1500 Hectare of green area. Runway of a length of 3,450 Meters, operating platforms, control tower, access roads, fuel stations among other equipment.
- The travel time from the airport to hotels in the Riviera Maya will be reduced.
- The concession is for the next 50 years including the construction time.
- Projected passengers is estimated at 700,000 in the first year of operation
- The Tulum airport Concesion will exist for a period of 50 years
