In 2012, Mexico has again remained the top destination for Spring Breakers. This year 382,376 American Spring Breakers traveled to Mexico, according to Mexico’s Ministry of Tourism.
Most of the favorite spring break destinations are the same as the favorite locations for Mexico real estate. These include Cancun real estate, Playa del Carmen real estate, Puerto Vallarta real estate and Cabo real estate. Another very popular destination for spring break was Rosarito Beach near Tijuana.
Cancun and Playa del Carmen alone drew over 50,000 Americans and Canadians for Spring Break (well over 12%).
Some of the factors which are appealing to both Spring Breakers and expats in these locations are beautiful beaches, warm, sunny weather (even throughout winter), modern services, easy and affordable air access, good restaurants and many activities. The cost of living, just like the cost of vacationing in these places, is very affordable.
