A while back, Andy posted some pictures about Playa del Carmen’s history (see Playa del Carmen Real Estate – History in Pictures.) Recently, a friend of mind shared another interesting historical picture of Playa del Carmen with me. Take a look:

Can you believe this is the same place?!? While so many things have changed, one thing that is completely the same is the beautiful, white beaches and the bright turquoise water! Back almost 40 years ago (1974, when the top picture is from) it almost looks like every home in the village could be counted on one hand!  Today, as the bottom picture suggests, Playa del Carmen real estate offers several hundred great properties for sale in all price ranges and styles (not counting the ones that aren’t for sale!) This is a good thing for buyers.
It’s also a great thing for buyers that Playa del Carmen is a fast growing community, with new services and improved infrastructure appearing all the time. On top of that, this ongoing growth makes it a great place for investment.
While life on these beaches is paradise now just like it was in 1974, these changes have just made it that much more attractive and accessible to live in this paradise.
