One of the appeals of Cozumel real estate is that the island offers a very wide variety of activities and events, ranging from the rich traditions of the Carnival and other local festivities to the ancient Mayan sacred crossing of the strait in canoes. Another kind of event that takes place every year are sports competition; this year, Cozumel will be hosting the international Ironman 70.3 for the first time – a suitable follow-up to the island’s own Ironman event, held every November
This year the event will be held on September 23, a bit more than a month away, and the island is already starting to prepare. There are already more than 500,000 competitors from 25 different countries enrolled.
The international event has allowed Cozumel to partner with Mexican companies, like the airline Interjet, which will transport triathlete bicycles to the island free of charge.
It is expected that this bigger, international event, besides offering a great spectacle for sports
lovers, will also help draw broader attention to the island’s own Ironman event which will be held for the fourth time this November!
