Playa del Carmen Real Estate Professionalism Moves Forward – News From Real Estate Association!Toma de protesta de los directores de sección de la Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios.

First and foremost I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!

Yesterday, the Playa del Carmen Chapter of the Mexican Association of Real Estate Professionals (AMPI) held its “toma de protesta” or swearing in ceremony for the new board of directors.

Above, Laura Zapata was sworn in as the new president and Ileana Cantillo of TOP Mexico Real Estate was sworn in as the Vice President of the AMPI chapter.  AMPI has been a leading force in the push to professionalize not only the Playa del Carmen real estate industry, but the Mexico real estate industry as a whole, offering courses, training and certificates, and even collaborating to create a new university degree for both experienced brokers and new students.

Most recently, AMPI has been involved in promoting a new law for the state in which Playa del Carmen is located (Quintana Roo) that will require real estate agents working in the state will be required to have an official license.

Tom (the broker and president of Top Mexico) has been proud to be an active part of this process.  In yesterday’s ceremony, Tom was re-sworn in on the Committee for Justice and Honor.  He has been a long-term and active member of the Playa del Carmen chapter of AMPI.  As a member of both the chapter and the committee, he has played an active role in the group’s promotion of courses, certifications and laws.

In his own business practices, Tom has also been leading the way, being the first broker in Mexico to ever have received the country’s national level university degree in real estate, and the accompanying professional identification number – a distinction granted only to highly qualified professionals, generally in fields such as law and medicine.

Ileana Cantillo, also of Top Mexico Real Estate was sworn in as the vice president of the Chapter.  

Dinner & Promoting the Riviera Maya

At the dinner following the formal swearing-in ceremony, a few members of this chapter of AMPI enjoyed delicious sushi with the NATIONAL PRESIDENT and NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT of AMPI who flew into Playa del Carmen to participate in the event.  One of the main themes of conversation was the collaboration of the various local chapters of AMPI (which include Cancun real estate, Cozumel real estate and Tulum real estate) to use the organization’s connection with U.S. real estate groups (esp. NAR) to promote the region as an excellent real estate investment choice.

Este miércoles se llevó a cabo la toma de protesta de los directores de sección de la Asociación Mexicana de Profesionales Inmobiliarios (AMPI) para la zona de la Riviera Maya.

El AMPI ha venido promoviendo la profsionalización de la industria, no solo de los bienes raíces en Playa del Carmen, sino de los bienes raíces en México en general; ofreciendo cursos, certificaciones y capacitación, además de haber colaborado en la creación de la carrera universitaria para agentes inmobiliarios.

Recientemente el AMPI se ha involucrado en la promoción de la nueva Ley de Regulación de Agentes Inmobiliarios en el Estado de Quintana Roo -lo que permitirá profesionalizar el sector inmobiliario en el país- haciendo que todos los agentes en bienes raíces cuenten con una licencia oficial que avale su trabajo.

Tom (agente y presidente de Top México) así como los colaboradores de Top México Real Estate se enorgullecen al ser parte activa de este proceso. En la ceremonia de este miércoles, Tom volvió a tomar protesta como integrante del Comité de Justicia y Honor en la sección de Playa del Carmen. Como miembro, Tom ha tomado un rol activo en la urgencia de la profesionalización del sector, promoviendo cursos, certificaciones y leyes que regulen y ayuden a mejorar el mercado inmobiliario en el Estado.

Es importante predicar con el ejemplo, ante esto, Tom se convirtió en el primer agente inmobiliario en el país en obtener el grado de licenciatura en Bienes Raíces, además de obtener su número de identificación de cédula profesional para ejercer sus labores. Algo hasta este punto inédito.

Ileana Cantillo -también del equipo de trabajo de Top México Real Estate- tomó protesta como Secretaria de Sección.

Promoción de la Riviera Maya.

En la cena consecuente a la ceremonia de toma de protesta, los miembros de sección del AMPI disfrutaron de una deliciosa cena en el SushiClub en la zona de la Quinta Avenida en Playa del Carmen. Uno de los temas principales de la conversación fue la colaboración con varias de las secciones locales del AMPI -que incluye tanto los bienes raíces en Cancún, los bienes raíces en Cozumel, así como los bienes raíces en Tulum– para usar las redes de comunicación de la asociación con grupos inmobiliarios en Estados Unidos para promover a la región como un excelente lugar de inversión inmobiliaria.

En blogs siguientes exploraremos más el tema de la Ley de Regulación para agentes inmobiliarios que actualmente se encuentra en el Congreso del Estado, un tema verdaderamente importante para la profesionalización del sector.
