We like to shine our community spotlight on a variety of nice communities in Playa del Carmen and the surrounding area. Today, I want to draw your attention to a sort of “non-community†– the beautiful, natural, almost unknown Xpu-Ha Beach.
A Quiet, Unknown Beach
Xpu-Ha just a bit south of Puerto Aventuras, the upscale marina community, or about 30 minutes from Playa del Carmen. With an almost unmarked entrance off the highway, few people know where this beach is, and even fewer arrive to enjoy its pristine, white beaches and natural jungle.
If we can even call this a “community,†it’s more remarkable for what it doesn’t have than for what it does have. It doesn’t have big developments nearby, it doesn’t really have any homes nearby, it doesn’t have crowds of tourists, etc.
What Xpu-Ha does have is nature – pure, beautiful nature, the way these beaches have been for hundreds of years. The beach is among the best of soft, white sand and warm water for which the Riviera Maya is famous.
Services
While preserving the natural setting nearly perfectly, the beach is home to a rustic-style beach club, thatched-roof, Mayan cabins and even some elegantly simple hotel rooms. There are areas for camping, snorkeling, diving and some other activities.
Living Near Xpu-Ha
While there is no real estate on the beach itself, there are very beautiful homes nearby, within a 5-minute drive.
For example, take a look at this beautiful jungle mansion:
or this charming ranch home:
Living near Xpu-Ha is most certainly for those who prefer nature, jungle and a quiet life near a quiet beach, while all services are still a short drive away. Of course, the beach is also a great little escape now and then for those who generally prefer the busier life of Playa del Carmen or Cancun.
