 I would just like to take the opportunity to wish everyone in Mexico a Happy Independence Day! For most, after a long night of celebration, today is a day of rest and relaxation to enjoy with their families and friends! Many will head to the beach, enjoy delicious Mexican dishes, or maybe see a movie or two!
 I hope that everyone was filled with spirit and excitement during last night’s festivities! It was great to see Playa del Carmen so full of life! Even more so I hope that our expat community has embraced the tradition and joined in on all the celebrations!
As an American, living in Mexico, I feel that it is important to recognize and become a part of the Mexican way of life. We must never forget our roots and our own holidays, but by participating in others, it can help us to understand the culture and feel good and proud about where we are living.
