If you are thinking about coming to look at real estate properties in Mexico it is important to think about how you will be organizing your time. Many people combine their Mexico real estate tour with a planned vacation. This is only natural, however you should make sure you prioritize your trip to make the most out of what you are trying to accomplish. If finding a good real estate option is your main goal I have a few tips that will help you to make time for both business and vacation.
1. Don’t think of searching for real estate as a chore! Going on a tour for Mexico real estate does not have to be a project or considered as business. The idea is to make it fun! You are searching for your dream home in paradise so put on your flip flops and sunglasses and make it what it is….searching for your dream home in Mexico!
2. Make a proper agenda! This agenda will vary depending on your urgency or seriousness to buy. My recommendation is that if you are really trying to make the most out of your trip to search for Mexico real estate make, sure that you schedule your tour for the beginning of your trip.
This will allow time if you do decide on a property to organize any legal paperwork needed. Also, it gives you time in the week to keep searching and see new options and locations. Typical tours are a half day and about four property showings.
3. Know your budget and what you are looking for in a home!  Try to stick to looking at properties that you know are within your budget and search criteria. This will ensure that you make the most out of your time and make it count! Before your tour date, spend some time talking with your Mexico real estate agent and establishing which properties you will be looking at and if they truly fit the bill for your needs.
4. Get the time right! Schedule the time of your Mexico real estate tour according to your needs to allow a little time for the good stuff…relaxation! If lazy mornings on the beach are important to you, try and book a 1 pm appointment with your tour agent. If you want to spend the rest of your day without having anything else on your agenda it’s good to start your tour in the morning! If you need more time you can schedule more time on another day. Work with your agent on a good schedule that works for both of you.
Make sure that you consider that looking for Mexico real estate is not just about finding the perfect property. It is important to take the time to become educated beforehand and throughout the process. Also, prepare that there will be follow up activities and paperwork after you have found your home. Allow yourself time to do it right!
