The 5th Wine and Food Festival wrapped up this weekend after 4 days that celebrated the flavors of Mexico, Spain and France. International talents of the culinary world, including chefs and sommeliers, descended upon one of largest culinary festivals in the Caribbean, with a huga sampling of dishes created by the celebrity chefs.
This year Mexico, Spain and France were honored and their culinary tastes were on display throughout the four days of events which were held in different venues in Cancun and across around the Riviera Maya. The focus was on the flavors of Spain and Mexico, with two well known chef attending: Alejandro Ruiz, an important personality in the Mexican food scene, and Albert Adrià from Spain, regarded as the best pastry chef in the world. Both shared their experiences and had two separate Tribute Dinners in their honor.
Among the participating area resorts were Grand Fiesta Americana Coral Beach Cancun, the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres, Secrets The Vine Resort & Spa, Hard Rock Cancun and Sandos Cancun, where the event kicked off with a cocktail reception.
There were beer, wine and Mezcal tastings, cooking classes with the celebrity chefs, and Nespresso, Ridge Vineyards and Casa Madero tastings. A celebrity catamaran cruise has held at Zoetry Villa Rolandi Isla Mujeres and a star chefs dinner at the Cancun Hard Rock Hotel.
The festival also gave attendees the opportunity to get to know the Cancun area, especially the Hotel Zone where much of the action took place. There is some great real estate nearby which is worth mentioning, so let´s take a look at two of them:
