How to Read Your Electricity Bill

Now that you live in Mexico, have you ever had some trouble trying to figure out all the information on your electric bill? If this has ever happened to you, you’re not the only one. Sometimes, electric bills can be a little confusing due to too much information in a short space.

This article contains a set of information detailing your electric bill.

  • Ubicación de suministro- Power supply address

In this section you will find: your name or the company name, address, town and state where the power is provided.

  • Número de servicio- Service Number

This number allows us to locate your service in our system. If you request clarification and you give this number it will be easier to help you.

  • Total a pagar- Total Balance

This is the amount you must pay

  • Fecha límite de pago- Payday Limit

The last day to cover your outstanding balance, taking advantage of the diverse ways of payment that we have made available to you.

  • Cálculo de facturación- Invoice Breakdown

This is the result of the fees applied by the Tax and Revenue office to the electric power consumption.

  • Número de Medidor- Meter Number

Letters and numbers that identify the meter installed in your address.

  • Lectura actual y Lectura anterior – Past and Current Readings

Past and current readings according to the reading period when the consumption was registered

  • Multiplicador- Multiplicator

Fixed value that is used to multiply the different readings to obtain the energy consumption, Its value generally is one.

  • Consumo kWh- Consuption kWh

The Consumption of electric power that was used in a determined period. It is the result of multiplying the different current readings and the prior ones by the fixed value.

  • Concepto e importes- Concepts and amounts

These are the different concepts and integrate the total balance of the invoice. Charges or credits, that correspond to each concept.

  • Promedio diario de consumo- Daily consumption average

Presentation of a daily consumption average and of electric power on the bimester.

  • Avisos Importantes- Important notices

Informative messages regarding your service.

  • Talón de caja -Cashier’s stub

Section that is used to pay at a bank teller.
