There is nothing more important than protecting and restoring our natural resources. This should be at the top of everyone’s list no matter where you live. Once our environment has been corrupted with humanity’s actions, it will disrupt the whole Ecosystem. Which will in turn destroy what nature created billions of years ago. Instead of reeling in facts and figures, let’s get to the heart of the matter and how it will affect our current lives.
Here are a few common situations that are obviously plaguing our environment currently
How would you feel going to the beach and see non-biodegradable trash all over the place? Such as plastic bottles, bags and let us not forget those dreaded cigarette butts – an article in itself? The oceans are one of our most valuable resources. It provides an important source of food for many of the world’s countries. The ocean’s aquatic inhabitants are being contaminated with senseless dumping of trash and bio waste on a daily basis. This is not to mention the beauty that is being destroyed by a lack of unwillingness to understand future consequences. One simple step we can start practicing is, “What you bring to the beach, you must pack it up and take it with you”.
“Out of sight, out of mind
Areas that are dense in foliage or heavy with deep woods only hide the trash. Developing countries that lack regularly scheduled trash pickups, inadequate landfills and/or not having enough receptacles will eventually lead to the erosion of their local environment. The advantages of economic growth also brings on other situations that can negate any success. One possible solution would be to educate people who are unaware of recycling, proper disposal of trash and using biodegradable products that will preserve their delicate ecosystem. Governments need to increase their efforts in adopting more programs that bring awareness to preserving our precious ecosystems.
Up and coming countries that are starting to create their own industrial revolution need to regulate their raw waste. Industrial pollution can spew toxic fumes and waste into the air and ground affecting millions and millions of people’s health. This is not an isolated issue but a worldwide problem. Countries that are rapidly growing their economy with industries are sometimes unaware of their responsibility towards our world’s fragile ecosystem. The World’s governments need to intervene and discuss their ideas on preserving our environment.
Mexico is educating its population on the importance of an ecosystem
With Mexico having the 13th largest economy in the world and growing annually has been very active preserving its natural resources. They are starting to educate their increasing middleclass population on the importance of an ecosystem – natural resources. As a result, this seems to be making progress in leaps and bounds. Also, Mexico is becoming a favorable haven for many North Americans who are seeking a lower cost of living, affordable medical care, technology, and most of all its natural beauty.
