Playa del Carmen Activities When it Rains

The beauty of living and traveling in Playa del Carmen is the weather. You get beautiful hot sunny weather 90% of the year and the odd day here and there you might get a couple hours of tropical showers. The beauty here is it usually never rains for a full day. So, you can enjoy some indoor festivities while it rains and hit up the beach when it’s finished watering all the luscious palm trees. One might want to be prepared in case that situation arises and have fun things planned out in case it starts raining.

We will now provide a list of many fun activities in the Riviera Maya that you can partake in when it rains

This beautiful place is not just about the beach and the ocean! Of course that’s a huge reason Playa attracts so many visitors but there’s tons and tons of other fun things to do too!

  • Shopping on Fifth Avenue

Shopping on Fifth Avenue has its name for a reason. You can find almost anything you want, and there are a lot of neat boutique shops where you can find some one-of-a-kind souvenirs. If you are looking for the classic Mexican souvenirs like the blankets and sweaters + T-shirts that say Playa del Carmen, don’t worry, there are an abundance of stores like that scattered along the street. When speaking about restaurants, Fifth Avenue has many different types of gastronomy to choose from. From Italian, to Mexican, to Cuban, to Venezuelan. You name it, there’s probably a restaurant of that origin located here in Playa del Carmen.

  • Watch a movie at the movie theatre

Who doesn’t like watching movies when it’s raining? If you don’t speak Spanish don’t worry, most of the movies are in English with Spanish subtitles. The movie theatre is located at the big mall just on the outside of town. If watching a movie didn’t catch your interest maybe practicing up on your Spanish lessons did. There are many great Spanish teaches here in Mexico that could meet with you to teach you a few of the basics. Why not meet at a coffee shop and learn some new words, while enjoying some good Mexican coffee.

  • Get your hair done by a talented hair stylist

If you are in need of a new hair-do or you didn’t have time to get your hair done before you came, don’t worry. There are many talented stylists here that come from all over the world. Not only on Fifth Avenue but 10th avenue has a lot of wonderful hair shops too!

  • Go for a much needed massage

Who can say that they do not need a massage? We can guarantee everyone would enjoy a classic relaxation massage done by one of our professional massage therapists. It’s almost half the price here in Mexico, so this is the place to do so. Take advantage of this, and have as many as you like.

  • Partake in some salsa lessons

If you like to keep busy on your feet, look into taking a salsa class. It’s not only a good workout but you will learn a few new moves for your next vacation. This will give you bragging rights too for when you show off to your friends and family members!

Our last bit of advice for you is: if there is a period where there is no sunshine, sometimes all you have to do is create your own!

If you have any questions regarding real estate in the Riviera Maya, please let us know! We’ll be happy to help you. Remember, at Top Mexico Real Estate… We make it happen!
