How to Take Advantage of El Buen Fin in Mexico

El Buen Fin Mexico

If I’m not mistaken, everybody loves a sale. However, the best sale is the one that lasts for longer than a day, offering discounts on all kinds of products. That is exactly what El Buen Fin in Mexico provides for residents (and anyone who is traveling during this time). Technically translating to The Good Weekend, this discount-filled weekend will take place from November 16th to the 19th of 2018. It aims to stimulate the economy while also helping families acquire products they normally don’t consider or can’t afford to purchase. El Buen Fin, however, is the perfect excuse to furnish your home, fix that car, or get that haircut you’ve been wanting. Oh, it is also a great time to take advantage of real estate deals…so keep an eye out!

Discounts, discounts, discounts!

Discounts

El Buen Fin is comparable to Black Friday in the United States or Canada’s Boxing Day shopping extravaganza. Except it lasts slightly longer. It is about families saving money through discounts on products needed for every day use. Taking advantage of this government-fueled weekend gives everyone that opportunity. There are many things one can accomplish during this three-day sale. You can shop ‘til you drop if that is your desire.

When shopping for Christmas, birthdays or special occasions, taking full advantage of El Buen Fin is an important factor. It also helps you check off those wish list items you’ve been eyeing for a while – especially those to enhance your vacation home in the Riviera Maya. It is the perfect time to consider upgrading your home altogether. Or if you’ve just signed that title deed and call yourself a new homeowner in Mexico, it’s the perfect time to furnish. Get that new refrigerator, oven or washer and dryer. If you rent out your property for vacation rentals, El Buen Fin gives you that advantage to get extra perks to attract customers (this includes buying bicycles for transportation, a sofa-bed for larger groups or whatever seems necessary).

Take time out of your busy day and visit as many participating stores as possible (this can be done online, as well). It can be spent as a family day out, as well, to get to see all Mexican stores and products that offer high-quality for everyone. No matter what the reason is, treat yourself to a day of shopping. In Playa del Carmen, you will find El Buen Fin discounts in most stores, which an be quite hefty. Make sure you are patient, however, as many people take advantage of this weekend.

Visit La Quinta Alegria shopping mall or Paseo del Carmen on Fifth Avenue, or go where the locals shop in Plaza Las Americas or Centro Maya. But it’s not just about shopping for things. El Buen Fin extends to experiences. So, if you’ve been trying to find that affordable flight to go visit your family up north during the Christmas break, keep an eye out for discounts from airlines such as Volaris or Interjet.

On the other side of the table, El Buen Fin isn’t only about stimulating the economy. It definitely helps shop owners and major retailers generate extra revenue to stabilize the local economy. But it also creates jobs. When a store experiences an increase in sales, it needs additional employees to support its customer’s needs before and after the sale. Tax revenue coming from the increased sales helps the local government to maintain and improve local infrastructure. It becomes a win-win situation for all involved.

Speaking of taxes, the government has promised discounts in certain taxes during El Buen Fin.

Invest in Mexico today and make this your favorite holiday

This incredible shopping weekend in Mexico will be held from the 16th to the 19th of November. El Buen Fin has proven to be a complete success year after year. And if you’re still considering that home in paradise, perhaps the discounts on furnishing and upkeeping the home will give you that nudge to finally buy. Check out our thousands of listings, as well, you never know what promotions you will find.

And remember, at Top Mexico Real Estate…we make it happen!
