One of the best things about Oaxaca real estate is the breathtaking views. Either if you are at the shoreline, near the mountains, in a valley, or in the city of Oaxaca, you will be amazed by what you see.

Oaxaca is a colorful place awarded with one of the best culinary paradises in the world. People are as friendly as in any other city in Mexico.

It is also a place full of culture, and you will find Alebrijes, the Guelaguetza Festival, and even the Monte Alban ruins and lots of other activities to enjoy. Unlike other Mexican archeological sites, you can actually go on top of the ruins of Monte Alban.

Oaxaca city is a place with cobblestone streets with a colorful blend. Most houses are painted in different colors, and there are plenty of markets and cultural sites to visit.

There are plenty of local markets, and you will find excellent fresh produce everywhere. And you will find crafts all over the place as well.

Huatulco

Formerly known as The Bays of Huatulco but now goes by Huatulco. It is a beachside town Along the western coastline of the state of Oaxaca.

Located a six-hour drive from Oaxaca City, this place offers some of the best bays and beaches along Mexico’s Pacific coastline.

Oaxaca Real Estate

The paradisiacal views of the bays and their surrounding areas are enviable. The calm waters and sandy beaches go along rocky shores and cliffs. There are nine bays and over 36 beaches along Huatulco, and although it is a tourist destination, it hasn’t lost the picturesque little town soul.

Although not all bays and beaches are accessible by land, you can get there by boat, which makes most beaches almost untouched.

Some of the best homes for sale in Oaxaca real estate are in this amazing place. As Huatulco has its own international airport and is some of the most beautiful beaches in the state.

The food here is great; you will find all kinds of international and national restaurants. Or if you would like to go to the market, you will have a great experience, know the local ways and, why not try to get some delicious mole recipes.

As for healthcare, there are only a couple of hospitals, but they do take foreign patients, and the prices are not that high. In fact, rumor says the government is planning to build a Hospital to incursion in medical tourism.

Puerto Escondido

A place that went from a fishermen’s village to a cosmopolitan beach. And with attractions for all who visit this place. Puerto Escondido is one of the most astounding beaches to own a home in Mexico.

Located in the Mexican Pacific on the coasts of Oaxaca, 113 km from the famous Bahias de Huatulco, you can find this beautiful Puerto Escondido. This old fishing village became a beach of attraction and fashion for the world.

From the mountains you can go down to the sea, to find deep blue waters, palm trees, and sand. It is a town that has grown and receives travelers from all over. However, it is also a town that has not lost its charm with its rustic and relaxed atmosphere.

Undoubtedly, the food here is delightful and, being a tourist area, you will find an array of international and national options. The best is the food and Mezcal, a native of this land.

Puerto Escondido has beaches for everyone. They go from the quiet beach, without waves, ideal for children, to the main beach to rent boats and walk on the shore.

Oaxaca Real Estate

The cost of living is very cheap compared to the US, Canada, and other shore cities in the rest of Mexico. Also, with the dollar over 20 pesos, you can live there for half of what you spend back home.

Health care is not as in big cities but is not as expensive for little illnesses. If there is something major, it will not lead you to bankruptcy. Usually, you will pay only the amount equal to the Co-payment if you have insurance.

Locals are friendly, and many speak English. However, if not, they will be patient and friendly. It will be easier, though, and kind of you if you learn a little Spanish.

on is mainly by taxi. Although, a lot of places are within walking distance. If you love outdoor activities, this is a wonderful place for you.

In the surrounding area, visitors can also find coastal lagoons and meet exotic birds endemic to Mexico. Numerous unexplored beaches where turtles spawn and plantations of Oaxaca’s famous coffee.

Zipolite and Mazunte

Zipolite and Mazunte are just a 15-minute ride from each other, and both are laid-back towns, so if you want a peaceful place to live, these two are for you.

The difference from Mazunte is that Zipolite is a hippie nudist beach, although not everyone is nude. This town started to be popular among the youngsters back in the 60s. Therefore people that live there are now in their 50s or 60s.

Oaxaca Real Estate

Mazunte is also very quiet. However, the average age of people there is much younger. Both towns are tourist places, and there is not much to see or do around speaking about cultural and artistic activities.

As the state of Oaxaca is a culinary paradise, you can find exquisite local dishes. The restaurants spread across the coastal area have a decent diversity of foods.

If you want to buy Oaxaca Real Estate, live in Zipolite or Mazunte, and stay within, you could walk everywhere. Either way, the collectivos are frequent and cheap between them.

There are some ex-pats communities around. I would suggest looking for the local ex-pats groups on Facebook and Instagram, which organize many activities. You will love it, though, if you want a place to live or visit that has a nice slow pace to unwind on a beautiful beach.

Cost of Living in Oaxaca

Oaxaca has a very affordable cost of living in all senses. You can live for half the money or even less than in the US or Canada. Also, if you buy Oaxaca real in any of these towns and use it as a snowbird or seasonal resident, renting it out on a platform while you are not there is an excellent opportunity to have some extra income.

As for mobility, you can move around some places just on foot. If you want to travel back home, there are two international airports in the state. One is in the city of Oaxaca and the other in Huatulco.
