Puerto Vallarta Tourism in 2015 Shows Record Numbers

Filed Under: How to Buy Real Estate in Mexico, Quinta del Mar

2015 was a record year for Puerto Vallarta, with the month of December showing that hotels reported 100 percent occupancy for the Christmas and New Year’s period. With nearly 1.8 million international travelers vacationing in Puerto Vallarta during the same period it was Puerto Vallarta´s best year since 2008, an increase of almost 20% compared to 2014.

According to Miguel Andrés Hernández, director of the Puerto Vallarta Convention and Visitor’s Bureau tourists brought “almost $30 million to the destination’s hotels and more than $30 million has gone to local businesses.” These include restaurants, bars,  art galleries, and tour operators. 135 cruises also came to the city, and this year to be even bigger, thanks in part to the addition of five new hotels that opened in 2015.

The development of many new properties is also helping out. Among these is the new Quinta del Mar condominium development, located on Banderas Bay.  Surrounded by green mountains, it´s a  beautiful and magical place that was the scene for Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor’s famous love story that was sparked in 1963 when John Huston came to shoot his 25th movie “Night of the Iguana”.

The condominiums are just 8 miles from Puerto Vallarta International Airport in a gated community that has open spaces and a large construction area. Quinta del Mar has a unique design with plenty of flowing lines that match the waves of the ocean and the curves of the surrounding mountains. The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet, a bathroom with a Jacuzzi, an open kitchen with premium appliances, and a spacious living area with large bar. You can see the waters of the Pacific from the many grand windows of the property, or on the terrace. The surrounding area has many comforts for you to enjoy, such as bars, restaurants, and shopping which are only a short drive away.
