The Riviera Maya Receives Another Award for 2016

Mexico’s Riviera Maya has done it again! As if this year hasn´t been good enough it terms of picking up awards and achieving recognition, now comes this. On June 15 in Marina del Rey, California Dario Flota Ocampo, the director of Tourism and Promotion of the Riviera Maya, accepted the 2016 Wave Award from TravelAge West. According to the Riviera Maya News the region was honored for having the best services and highest client satisfaction of any destination, .

The Tourism Commission of the National Conference of Governors has stated that this region is the top choice for tourist. In particular Playa del Carmen, which has been the recipient of more than 20 awards this year already, including the 2016 TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice award for Best Destination in Mexico. This is not surprising as the last five years has seen more than 65 million international visitors come here

The entire region of the Riviera Maya runs more than 80 miles, south from Cancun, through Puerto Morelos, Playa del Carmen, Puerto Aventuras and Tulum. It´s the only part of Mexico that is on the Caribbean coast. With its´ beautiful white-sand beaches, hotels, variety of activities, and the rich history of the Maya which can be seen and felt everywhere, it´s no wonder that the Rivera Maya keeps drawing people here on vacation or to move here on a permanent basis. This is a place that draws many nationalities here from North and South American, Europe, and Asia
