When passing away without a will, the inheritance procedure is done through a judiciary process, in which a judge will decide who your inheritors are and in which percentage they will receive their assets; this process can be lengthy and expensive. Having a will makes the inheritance process easier and clear for everyone.

  1. You will be protecting your relatives and children

Besides choosing beneficiaries for properties or assets, you can also protect your relatives. For example, in families with kids, the parents can designate a tutor in case they pass away. This person will take care of the children and will maintain in guard their assets.

A will is a safe way to protect your assets, your family and yourself. Even if you are young and healthy, and death looks like a far possibility, consider that it is highly important to effectuate your will when you have full capacity and consciousness. No one other than you can grant a will on your name. You’re the only person who can pass on your goods and rights to your inheritors.

The procedure to have a will is much easier than you imagine. Simply visit the Notary Public of your preference and bring the next documents and information:

  • Name of the testator and general information (city and date of birth, nationality, civil status, occupation, address)
  • Official ID and CURP
  • Full name of your relatives, including parents, wife or husband, and children.
  • The testator will have to notify the Notary in case of having a disability to see, listen, talk or to sign.
