Are Mexican Retirement Communities For Younger People Too?

Filed Under: Cost of Living in Mexico, La Escondida, Mexican Retirement Communities, Mexican Retirement Community, Mexico Beaches, Mexico Condos, Mexico Cost of Living, Mexico Retirement, Mexico Retirement communities, Mexico Retirement Living

Yes, definitely!  Maybe you still have a few years, or even a couple of decades left until retirement.  Youre checking a beautiful Mexico condo or home in a quaint little town on Lake Chapala, for example, then you read something like “this Mexican retirement community is located on one of the most beautiful lakefront locations …”

Immediately a flag goes up – “I’m not retired, I’d better look somewhere else,” you might think.

Bad idea! Most communities that focus on retirement are, in fact, focused on lifestyle, not simply on a community that is exclusively for retirees.  Many retirees have chosen and continue to choose these areas because of the lifestyle offered, and this lifestyle quite likely includes the very things you are looking for when deciding to live in Mexico.  Some of these features include the following:

Beautiful Places, Warm Weather

A very general term, but Mexico has many towns, cities and neighborhoods that are simply a visual pleasure to see!  Whether a nice new community on the beachfront, a quaint, traditional Mexican town, a grand colonial city, or a ranch in the hilly countryside, you will never tire of going for walks enjoying well-planned communities, traditional neighborhoods and the lush, green nature all around. Temperatures in Mexico ranges from very moderate (50-80 degrees) to quite warm (70-100); you can choose which range suites you.

Nearby Services

Regardless of what age you are, it’s nice to have access to supermarkets, good hospitals, airports and other modern services.  Most places advertised as “retirement communities” offer these and other services nearby.

Lots of Things to Do

You might not have quite as much time as retirees do, but it’s good to know that on the weekend and afternoons you can enjoy activities like scuba diving, a game of golf, fishing, English movies, historical sight-seeing or shopping.

Modern Infrastructure

Good roads mean getting to and from your new home will be easy.  Access to high-speed internet will allow you to surf the web, or maybe even “telecommute” – work from home.  Some retirees use the web to earn some extra cash and live with a few more luxuries; why not try it now?

Low Prices

It is important for retirees to know that prices will be accessible, allowing them to stretch their savings further; I’m sure you wouldn’t be bothered by knowing that the cost of living will be much cheaper for you!  Many retirees have also realized that cheap Mexico real estate is another example of how you can save money, and enjoy life in a warm climate, so communities identified as “retirement communities” tend to include some high-quality, well-priced options.

If these points look good to you, you might want to consider a Mexican retirement community, even if retirement is still a few years down the road!
