When we review what’s been going on with Playa del Carmen condos over the past year and a half, it’s tempting to say that much of what’s been going on is about low prices; great condos have been for sale at surprisingly low prices.  A great example of this is Awa condos, a new development which has followed closely on the success of Viliv (from the same developer.)
Yet, I have to resist this temptation, as attractive as it is; after all, who doesn’t want to know that higher quality is becoming available at lower prices?
A much more suitable conclusion is that it’s all about variety.
The reason for this conclusion is that while nicer condos have become available at lower prices, higher-end luxury has also been expanding, and successfully so. For example, Puerto Aventuras real estate, a nearby gated community known for offering the idea combination of a gated community and small town, has just begun selling beautiful, luxury condos overlooking it’s exclusive third marina. These condos are expected are said to be the most exclusive and luxurious available on the Caribbean.
While prices are still much, much better than anything similar in Florida, for example, it is nevertheless healthy growth on the upper end of the luxury scale.
So while lower prices are becoming available, the bottom line is that quality, lifestyle and variety are increasing in all price ranges in the market. This is good news for everyone!
