On the Costa Maya community side, we had a couple of spring parades for the children, along the malecon. Something that tourists love to see as they always ask me what activities go on here with the local children.
Semana Santa (Easter) was madness with a huge influx of visitors coming for a week or less and with them came the music, loud speakers and lots of cold beer. Â If you like Mahahual for the peace and quiet and to enjoy all the natural beauty that it offers, do not visit at Easter!
A new invention of a beach house owner, is solar panel cages, made from galvanized Steel, which are custom fit and protect the panels from being moved and hence damaged, in the case a hurricane comes. It also acts a great security measure for those with beach houses and no on-site presence. You can contact me for more information.
