Yesterday, I had the pleasure of spending the day with an old friend of mine, one of our Top Brokers and one of the most significant contributors to professionalism and international connections for Mexico real estate.   Among other items, we took a look at some of the most exciting developments in Playa del Carmen real estate and the surrounding area.

Old Friends, New Direction – Meeting with One of Mexico’s Pioneering Brokers

Today I had the pleasure of spending the day with Linda Neil, an old friend of mine, and one of Mexico’s leading pioneering brokers – especially in the areas of professionalism and international connections.

In the morning we had a phone interview with Tim Johnson of McClatchy newspapers, who formerly covered U.S. policy toward Latin America for the Miami Herald (14 years.) Here we are looking at our notes and chatting with Tim:

We talked about the new bill that may allow for direct ownership.  I’m looking forward to seeing Tim’s take on this topic!

Linda and I also went to a meeting at Aldea Zama´s offices and then to Hacienda del Rio, which is really looking great!  Shortly, I’ll share an interview with Linda’s invaluable opinion on this project.

We also did some video interviews on:

• Linda´s background and services as a broker
• The Mexico Spotlight 2013 (a program from U.S. Realtors to highlight the strengths of real estate in this country.)

This last project is, of course, closely connected to the one Linda and I are working together on this year to build new international connections for the Mexico real estate industry.

Seeing Linda again has been wonderful, and I’m looking forward continuing with these new and exciting projects for this year!

Hoy he tenido el placer de pasar el día con Linda Neil, una vieja y querida amiga mía, y una de las corredoras inmobiliarias pioneras en México -especialmente en las áreas de profesionalismo y conexiones internacionales-.

En la mañana tuvimos una entrevista telefónica con Tim Johnson de periódicos McClatchy, que anteriormente cubría la sección política de EE.UU. hacia América Latina para el Miami Herald (durante 14 años.) Aquí estamos mirando nuestras notas y charlando con Tim:

Hablamos sobre el nuevo proyecto de ley al artículo 27 que podría permitir la participación directa de extranjeros en el mercado inmobiliario en las costas de México. Realmente estoy deseando ver el punto de Tim sobre este asunto.

Linda y yo también tuvimos una reunión en las oficinas de Aldea Zama y de ahí fuimos a  Hacienda del Rio, que está quedando realmente genial. En breve, voy a compartir una entrevista con la opinión valiosa de Linda sobre este proyecto.

También realizamos algunas entrevistas en video que pronto compartiré con ustedes. Realmente ha sido una visita extraordinaria, esperamos verla pronto y sobre todo, esperamos seguir colaborando en este gran mercado que es el de los bienes raíces en México.
