Playa del Carmen Real Estate – Investment into Infrastructure Continues to Increase Quality of Life

Filed Under: Infrastructure News, Mexico Bridges and Roads, Playa del Carmen Real Estate

Since April 2011, the government of Playa del Carmen has investment more than 305 million pesos (about 25 million USD) into the area’s infrastructure.  This ongoing investment continues to benefit residents and the value of Playa del Carmen real estate.

Besides urban infrastructure, public protection and quality public services have been the priority for Mayor Filiberto Martinez.  At the end of March, 2012, the mayor began 5 new projects that improve the quality of life for all residents, with a total investment of 23.9 million pesos (about $2 million USD).

This amount is in addition to the $305 million pesos already invested into street paving, curbs and sidewalks with ramps, storm drainage, police guardhouses, new school buildings, sewer service, home improvement and purchase of 13 garbage trucks with the best service that is provided throughout the municipality.

New roadwork, paving and drainage have been one of the major focuses of the work.  Areas such as Ejido (Avenue Diagonal 85) Zazil Ha and the university district received a good deal of work in this kind of infrastructure.

While to date, most expat real estate buyers have focused on the downtown beachfront areas or the newer gated communities out of town, some are beginning to turn their attention towards these neighborhoods which are now more attractive with more complete paving and drainage, where some pockets are showing signs of gentrification.

An especially noticeable case of this is the street called Pintores Avenue at the north end of town which runs directly between two lower-income neighborhoods.  The new avenue is lined with palms and very beautifully designed, offering access to an upscale beachfront golf course.  The street promises to improve the visual aspect of the area greatly and increase the property value of Playa del Carmen homes for sale.

It’s very nice to read that Playa del Carmen makes such great steps forward. It seems to be a very nice spot for investments.
