Playa del Carmen´s new 3D museum officially opened on February 12 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony that included state govenor Roberto Borge Angulo. Located in the Pelican Plaza on 10 calle norte, the 3D Museum of Wonders is Playa´s first and will have more than 60 pieces of work on display  by artist Kurt Wenner, who is a designer of  architecture, fine art, and advertising.
With only five others in the world, this 3D museum is unique in creating optical illusions and various other visual effects. Inside are two theaters that offer screenings in 3D as well as numerous pieces of three-dimensional art work. It provides a two-hour interaction with various works by the international artist. The 3D Museum of Wonders was created with a private investment of one million US.
Before entering the gallery you will be asked to remove footwear, so you might want to take a pair of socks in order to avoid getting a chill from the floor. The art gallery encourages people to take pictures, so in order to make the most of your experience arrive with your digital camera or cell phone fully charged. The 3D effect of the artwork is seen through a lens, but if you´re having difficulty or have questions on how to best capture some images there are guides  available to help you.
It´s a perfect way to enjoy a few hours with your family or loved ones while admiring downtown Playa Del Carmen. Sundays tend to be quieter and admission is half price for local residents. The 3D Museum of Wonder is a must-see experience and an attraction suitable for all ages.
