Mexico’s federal tourism authority has reported that over 5.6 million foreigners have visited Mexico during the first quarter of this year. This is an increase of more than half a million compared to the same period a year ago. According to cnsnews.com, Americans are choosing to vacation in Mexico more than ever before, particularly the state of Quintana Roo.
The island of Cozumel, which will soon see Carnival Cruises add extended trips, is on its way to becoming one of the world´s top destination for cruise ships.  It’s number of passenger arrivals meant that it beat Nassau for top spot as the leading cruise destination for 2016, Mexican ports in March had 750 cruise ships anchored in  carrying 940,000 passengers, according to government statistics.
