Waterfront Real Estate in Morelia?

Filed Under: Mexico Colonial Cities, Mexico Culture, Mexico Lakefront, Mexico Retirement, Morelia real estate, Real Estate

Waterfront real estate in Morelia???   Not possible you say?   Well, yes, it IS possible!   Morelia real estate is surrounded by beautiful lakes and there are some beautiful gems to be found on them!  The Mexico real estate market has many options for beachfront properties, but many people overlook the fast and growing waterfront zones for Americans and Canadians such as Chapala, San Miguel de Allende, Oaxaca and the very beautiful Morelia.
Near Morelia, there are the charming lakeside villages of PATZCUARO and TZINTZUNTZAN.   Patzcuaro enjoys plazas sprinkled throughtout the urban area; city, the Basilica, and several museums.   The Purepecha Indians bring their wares to sell from the surrounding lakeside villages.   Don Vasco de Quiroga, Franciscan friar taught the Indians different crafts for each village, including, lacquerware, copper, pottery, weavings, carved wood.   No other area in Mexico has such a rich diversity of fine crafts available.
TZINTZUNTZAN, known as the place of the hummingbirds, was the ancient capital of the Purepecha or Tarascan Indians.  Today, nestled along the shores of Lake Patzcuaro, it is home to many who are discovering the relaxed lifestyle and incredible beauty of the mountains and the lakes.
