All Aboard: Mayan Train Stations & Routes Currently Working 

Picture this: a train journey punctuated by charming stations, each with its own unique allure. The Mayan Train operates 365 days a year, with two daily departures at 7:00 AM and 11:00 AM. The stations that are operational right now include the following.

Cancun-Campeche Route: San Francisco Campeche, Tenabo, Hecelchakán, Calkiní, Maxcanú, Umán, Mérida Teya, Tixkokob, Izamal, Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, Nuevo Xcán, Leona Vicario & Cancun Airport.

Cancun-Palenque Route: Edzná, Carrillo Puerto, Escárcega, Candelaria, El Triunfo, Tenosique, Boca del Cerro, Palenque, San Francisco Campeche, Tenabo, Hecelchakán, Calkiní, Maxcanú, Umán, Mérida Teya, Tixkokob, Izamal, Chichén Itzá, Valladolid, Nuevo Xcán, Leona Vicario & Cancun Airport.

Route Overview for the Near Future

The Mayan Train spans seven distinctive segments, traversing 40 municipalities, including 12 enchanting “pueblos mágicos” and five Mexican states. With a grand total of 34 stations, the journey promises an immersive exploration of archaeological wonders. Therefore, the routes added to the list will be: Moral Reforma, El Tigre, Edzná, Xcalumkín, Sayil, Kabah, Uxmal, Labná, Xlapak, Grutas de Loltún, Chacmultún, Oxkintok, Dzibilchaltún, Chichén Itzá, Ek’ Balam, El Meco, Paamul II, Xel Há, and Tulum.

The cost of your Mayan Train adventure varies depending on the route you choose. For those opting for the Mérida to San Francisco, Campeche route. The ticket prices are between $431 ($25 USD) and $688 ($40 USD) Mexican pesos. Meanwhile, the Cancún to Mérida trip offers an experience priced between $735 ($43 USD)and $1,173 pesos ($43 USD).
