In Mexico since pre-Hispanic times, we remember in a very special way, people close to us who have passed away. November 2nd is known as Dia de Muertos, day of the death, and the cemeteries become very colorful as everyone comes to pay respects to their loved ones by bringing them flowers and their favorite food.
It starts on November 1st in the evening, the graves are decorated with candles, flowers and their favorite foods, first the angels and spirits of the children come down, the candles are lit to help guide them.

Then on November 2nd, the adults come down to be with their family and friends.
The Tulum real estate zone was no exception. Â I went by to pay respects to my dear friend Carmela who passed away early this year and I met my friend Ramiro with his family cleaning and decorating the graves of his father and sisters. Â They had tamales and beautiful flowers for them. Music was playing off in a distance around some of the graves.
