What is AMPI?

AMPI Mexico is the National Real Estate Professionals Association that since 1956 groups under its Statutes and Ethics codes the professionals dedicated to the real estate activity such as: administrators, commercializing agents, mediators, appraisers, promoters, financing consulting agents, consulting agents, etc.

AMPI is constituted in Mexico by sections and these are integrated by associates and affiliates who represent more than 2950 members dedicated to this activity, every section is autonomous and has its own Board of Directors. In Quintana Roo for example we have the following chapters; AMPI PLAYA DEL CARMEN, AMPI CANCUN, AMPI COZUMEL, and a possibility of including an AMPI TULUM in the near future. There is also a National AMPI Directors Council formed by 20 associates from all over the country.

AMPI rewards the leadership of people that are recognized for their job in favor of the real estate profession, their attitude and gremial activity by giving each year the greatest award, the AMPI real estate merit medal. The current president of AMPI PLAYA DEL CARMEN is Laura Gutierrez while Thomas Lloyd is participating on the Honor and Justice Committee.

Where is AMPI Mexico represented?

It acts before the federal, state and municipal authorities, proposing the creation and reform of laws, norms and rules related with the real estate activity. AMPI Mexico is a solid organism with wide presence in different sectors and business leaders in our community.

AMPI Playa del Carmen is a guarantee for professionalism, large moral solvency and capacity of its associates, committed with the strict norms of the Ethics Code in the never-ending search to raise the real estate industry to the highest standards. The recent accomplishment of AMPI Mexico, AMPI PLAYA DEL CARMEN and all other chapters throughout Mexico has been the introduction of a nationwide program to offer a Mexico Real Estate university degree and Mexico Real Estate professional identification number "cedula professional". This identification number is granted to only qualified professionals who hold a university degree, such as with doctors and lawyers. Although not a Mexico real estate license, as these are regulated with legislation, the degree and professional identification number is a large step in increasing the industry standards. Only 44 people out of nearly 1,000 candidates who began the process passed the rigorous exams and evidence processes which was guaranteed by the federal educative offices of SEP. Thomas Lloyd founder of TOPMexicoRealEstate was one of the 44 candidates to be part of this new first generation Mexican degree.
