The Coco Beach Neighborhood is a relatively new area located on Avenida CTM, which is north of the Playa del Carmen’s main tourist area, the 5th Avenue or La Quinta. With easy access to the 5th Avenue you will find many restaurants, bars, coffee shops and convenience stores all on a wonderful cobblestone pedestrian street. This neighborhood also provides different open air markets which sells local produce, souvenirs and even gluten free bread, vegetarian and vegan produce. The Coco Beach markets are a great way of meeting people and trying local produce. If you are not looking for shopping you will find the pristine Caribbean Sea just a short 5 minute walk or bike ride away, with a selection of beach clubs serving drinks and snacks to clients relaxing on beach loungers including the ever popular Cannibal Royale. This beach is one of the best spots for snorkeling, with a beautiful reef located just a few meters away from shore. Locating the reef is very easy: it's right where all the boats are tied up, a sight that has become a staple of this beautiful neighborhood. This neighborhood is very close to the famous Mamitas Beach Club, which is known for the numerous events held throughout the year, whether it is the Riviera Maya Film Festival or a music concert you will be entertained!
