From July 9 to September 24 Puerto Vallarta will see the return of some of the cruise activity which dropped off during 2009. For the Puerto Vallarta real estate industry, the re-strengthening of this tourism sector significant for Puerto Vallarta points to an ongoing confidence in the area's thriving tourism market, bring further increase in services and interest in investment in Puerto Vallarta properties.

Specifically, the Pullmantur cruise opertator will return its routes to Puerto Valalarta as of July 9, with a weekly cruise leaving from Vallarta to Acapulco, Ixtapa, Manzanillo, and Los Cabos. The special status of home port for Puerto Vallarta means that visitors start their cruise there, and return at the end. This means that many visitors who choose to extend their stay will be adding even more to the Puerto Vallarta tourism industry.

As city officials stated, it will be an opportunity for visitors to get to know the tourism activities and services which Puerto Vallarta offers, as well as its natural beauty. For the real estate market this means two things; one is that more buyers will begin to be interested in properties for vacations or permanent relocation to Puerto Vallarta.

The other is that vacation rentals of condominiums and homes will increase, opening more opportunities for investment opportunities in properties such as Puerto Vallarta beachfront condos.

It is also expected that this will be the beginning of a general increase in cruise traffic, both returning routes and new routes, adding to the 13 lined up for this year.
