If you are looking for retirement on a quiet beachfront, with plenty of space to yourself and lush, beautiful nature all around you, Costa Maya retirement is one of you most ideal options. Located on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula, 5 hours south of Cancun, Costa Maya is the last undeveloped part of Mexico's Caribbean beachfront, and offers you a retirement which is truly relaxing, quiet and laid back.

Mahahual is the central town, and there are a few other villages along these miles and miles of wide, soft-sanded beachfront. Retirees can enjoy relaxation at its best both in town and out along the beachfront. In town you can walk to just about everything. Note: everything means a few restaurants, a bar, some little markets, and "mini-supers" you'll have to visit a few of these to complete the weekly shopping! But this is part of the Costa Maya retirement lifestyle; here you really can get away from it all. Everything runs at a relaxed pace.

The number of expats is small only a few hundred, but it's a very close community, offering social activities, advice and support as you adjust to living in a new country and new culture. For some retirees this is preferable to the larger beachfront communities where you can still get lost in the crowd.

Costa Maya retirement along the beachfront is quieter. Here, you will have a few neighbors to either side of you, but all around there will be untouched, beautiful nature, mangrove growths and jungle. The area is ideal for retirees who want to get back in touch with nature, and find a slower pace of life to really enjoy time. It is also a good choice for those who enjoy the crowds, but would like a quieter, warmer place to spend the winters!

Consider Costa Maya retirement.
