About Top Mexico Real Estate Agency
We purchased our units at The Fives back in 2008 ... right from the start Andy and Thomas at Top Mexico Real Estate were very helpful and they have worked with us through the entire project giving us lots of great direction. We are thrilled with our choice to buy in Mexico and to be part of The Fives from two points of view - using it ourselves with family and friends (who all love it!!), plus seeing the rental income potential. The professionalism that the resort management at Karisma exhibit from all aspects is incredible. The biggest feature that gives us peace of mind from an investment stand point is the fact that Karisma advertises The Fives all over the world!!! We did not want an investment property where we were relying on a potential renter to happen, like so many rental condo´s offer. When we are not there, Karisma is in total control of maintaining our units, beyond our expectations. Their attention to detail is unsurpassed in every way - food, entertainment, guest services, ground maintenance, the condos themselves and the spa. Love our choices we made, from working with Thomas and Andy to dealing with all the folks at The Fives. If you are looking to buy in Mexico, we highly recommend you contact TOP Mexico Real Estate.

Welcome to Yucatan Real Estate !
(CONT...)
It is safe here in Yucatan. Violent crime is practically unheard of. As in any city of million people, there is petty street crime. However, no matter where you go in this Yucatan city or at what hour, you will not feel intimidation. There is not that gut sinking fear that exist in so many cities. There is an overall gentleness that pervades. These are the factors that have a direct affect on the Yucatan real estate properties.
Handguns are not permitted. There is a large Yucatan police presence - traffic police, city police, tourist police, state police and federal police. This police presence does deter criminal activity. However, with all these police available, there is not an atmosphere of police repression. The police are here FOR you, they are not out to GET you.
The Yucatan real estate properties and market place are energized with people at all hours. The city is alive and the citizens feel safe to be on the streets. People walk here in Merida. There is a constant flow of activity - buses, bikes, motor scooters, taxis and cars. Occasionally, traffic can be a test of patience in the center city, but it is a testimony to a vibrant community in an ancient city.
Architecturally, Merida is a feast for the eyes. From the grandeur of fabulous French style mansions, to the uncompromising grace of a perfect colonial arch in a small courtyard garden, few places rival Merida in architectural variety and charm. Wander the center city or the outer neighborhoods, and you are delighted when you suddenly stumble upon a turn-of-the-century hacienda, colonial casona, or a charming, worn stone church. There are places here in Yucatan where time literally stands still.
The Yucatan region offers an abundance of gastronomic delights. With Merida's excellent location and climate, residents and visitors enjoy a grand variety of year-round tropical fruits and vegetables as well as seafood and meat. Located just a 30-minute drive from the Gulf of Mexico, the local markets and restaurants provide a feast of fresh shellfish, mollusks and fish. Ranches that specialize in pork, poultry and beef are found throughout the state of Yucatan.
Almost any cuisine is available in Merida -- French, Italian, Spanish, Lebanese, Vegetarian, Argentinian, Chinese and Japanese, Thai, Fusion and more! The local Yucatecan cuisine is habit forming. You will find yourself craving cochinita, lechon, carnitas, barbacoa, pavo relleno, panuchos, salbutes, frijol y puerco and hundreds of fabulous local dishes and tacos. Yummy!
The cultural scene in Yucatan is top notch! The soul also needs to be fed and the city of Merida serves up a stellar menu of arts, dance, symphony, recitals, poetry readings, theatre, cinema, markets, parks, fairs and bazaars. The government and local residents patronize the arts. Culture is important and art galleries are flourishing. Every night of the week there is something happening in centro Merida: Street dances or singing; art openings; wine tasting; music recitals; poetry readings; discussion groups; professional baseball and soccer games; annual festivals, color and fun. Don't forget - Carnival! Entry fees and tickets are very inexpensive and often are free. In the year 2000, Merida was named the first American Capital of Culture.
The Yucatan real estate market is rumbling with activity. Merida is a vast metropolitan city that seems small. There is something here for everyone and every budget. For more information on Merida or purchasing homes in Yucatan, please contact me.
Sincerely
Mitch Keenan

Yucatan
Merida Yucatan was founded in 1542 by Francisco de Montejo. It was built on top of the ancient Mayan city of T'ho, a center of Mayan culture for centuries. Historians consider Merida to be the oldest continually-occupied city in the Americas.
Modern Merida is a multi-cultural, multi-faceted, business, educational, health, transportation and cultural center of the Yucatan Peninsula and Southern Mexico. The city has grown tremendously and encompasses many of the small villages that use to lie on her outskirts. The current population of the city is around 1,000,000 souls.
Merida lies 22-miles from the Gulf of Mexico, this coast is known as the "Yucatan Coast", "Emerald Coast" or "Flamingo Coast". Puerto Progreso, the largest port in Southern Mexico is just 30-minutes from Merida, connected by an 8-lane highway (see below for more information on Progreso and The Yucatan Coast).
Merida has the 2nd largest, historically protected, colonial center in Mexico. Known as "Centro" the colonial centers boast fabulous colonial homes, churches and architecture from the 18th and 19th century. Thriving and bustling, Centro has become a favorite ex-pat location for it's architecture, restaurants, clubs, walking avenues, sidewalk cafes, art galleries and nightly cultural events.
Health Care in Merida is excellent and readily accessible. There are numerous public and private hospitals and clinics throughout the Yucatan Peninsula.
UADY, located in Merida, is one of the most prestigious medical faculties in Mexico. Due to Merida's proximity to Houston and Miami, many local Doctors cross-train and practice in both countries making Merida one of the best cities in Mexico in terms of health services availability.
The Yucatan real estate market has every type of housing you can imagine, the luxurious and the affordable, historical and new construction, condominiums and homes, ranches, haciendas, quintas, gated communities and country clubs. Whatever you could wish for you will find in, around or near Merida.
