If you’ve ever visited the Riviera Maya, which stretches from just north of Playa del Carmen to Tulum and the Sian Kaan Biosphere Reserve in the south, you’ll know that there are miles upon miles of wonderful, white sandy beaches with the turquoise Caribbean beyond.  If you are like most people, you’ve probably been to 2 or 3 of the many, many options.  Or, maybe you’re one of those people that’s at home and has never been to this Paradise, but you’ve heard good things …

In either case, we’ve decided to help you out and find out which are the 25 Top Beaches of the Riviera Maya and share them with you through videos, pictures, descriptions and maps. Why?  2 main reasons; One - just because we know not everyone can be here in person to enjoy them, so we wanted to let you know we’re thinking of those of you in colder, grayer places.  Two – we’re sure sometime soon, you’ll find the chance to make your way down here, and we want you to know which ones are your favorites so you can make a point of visiting them.  Even if you have been here, chances are you haven’t seen enough of the many beachfront areas to decide which one is the absolute best for you.

The second beach we’re sharing with you is the Tulum beach which is famous for the mystical pyramids perched on the cliff-top above it.  The ruins of Tulum are the only ones in the Mayan world which are located directly on the beachfront, with the main pyramid overlooking the main beach and the turquoise water of the Caribbean.  They say that from this site the Mayans watched the Spanish Conquistadores sail by shortly after Cortez reached the Aztecs; it was one of the few Mayan cities which had not been abandoned.

This beautiful taste of history is offered to visitors hand in hand with the beautiful, soft sand of the wide Tulum beaches below it.  It is a true pleasure to visit.

We invite you to find out more about Tulum beach and, more importantly, we hope you can find some time to come and experience for yourself.

You may also be interested in visiting Xcacel Beach, which is hidden gem about 30 minutes north of Tulum, tucked away in the jungle with access on a dirt road which opens up into wide, open beaches surrounded by nature.
