A big choice for many buyers considering a condo in Playa del Carmen is whether to go for the quiet, spacious lifestyle of a gated community, or the close walking access to all conveniences, shopping, dining, etc. of downtown.

The good news is that it's entirely possible to have the best of both worlds - you can live right in the heart of downtown, while still enjoying a quiet life in a spacious condo complex.

How can you accomplish this?

Quadra Alea.

A Very Unique Condo Downtown

Stepping into Quadra Alea, you wouldn't imagine that you're right downtown. There's so much space - everywhere. The green areas are probably the largest to be found downtown. There are two large pools. As you walk around through the 3-story buildings, you don't hear traffic or music or the movement of people walking and talking through the streets. You'd be much more likely to hear birds.

There's a parking lot, but it's underground. For those who prefer to come and go quickly, there's an elevator from the underground parking going up to each building. You would never guess there's a parking garage under you.

The modern-Mayan combination of the white condo buildings with wooden rails and trim, and thatched roofs create a good deal of visual appeal, ideal for relaxing.

Inside the Condos

The condos themselves are just as spacious inside. They are, in fact, the most spacious condos downtown, starting somewhere around 2500 sq. ft., and going up to a good deal bigger than that. You can talk about open-plan design, but when you combine that with actual real square footage, it offers both a sense of spaciousness and plenty of real space to use.

The views of the common areas and other buildings are very attractive - again, something you'd expect more out in Playacar or maybe on one of the resorts.

In the Heart of Downtown

Now, as I said, you wouldn't guess that this is really right downtown Playa del Carmen.

Directly outside of Quadra Alea there are shops and cafes.

Not far away there are 3 supermarkets, as well as the bus station (with nice coach buses heading to any location on the Yucatan Peninsula and beyond.)

Most exciting is the fact that Fifth Avenue, the heart of the entire region's tourism with plenty of cafes, bars, clubs, restaurants, galleries and small specialty shops, is just around the corner. The beach is just 2 blocks beyond Fifth Avenue.

So, can you have the best of both worlds? In Playa del Carmen you can.
