Mazatlan will be investing a significant amount into promotion of business and convention tourism, aiming to become the leading organizer of conferences and conventions in Mexico. For Mazatlan real estate buyers, this means that new investment and income opportunities from increased tourism will soon be appearing.
The new promotion will focus on increasing tourism from business meetings, conventions, professional fairs, exhibitions, video presentations and educational seminars. The investment for this campaign will be about $350,000 U.S., coming from various sources, including the Mazatlan Tourism Trust, the Ministry of Economic Development of the state of Sinaloa, Mazatlan International Centre, several hotels and the Tourism Board of Mexico.
"It is without doubt one of the most innovative campaigns that I've launched," said one of the key organizers.
The opening of Mazatlan International Center in November 2009 with an investment of $75 million U.S is helping in the process of moving Mazatlan towards being the top beachfront destinations on the Mexican Pacific in the convention tourism industry. It is estimated that during its first year of operation, the Mazatlan International Center will host a total of 100 events, increasing to 200 the second year, and in the third year and onwards with at least 300 events.
Mazatlan is exploiting its tourism potential for business tourism with a modern urban infrastructure, complete large-city services, an impressive historic center which has been almost completely restored during the last 20 years, beautiful beaches, many picturesque villages in the surrounding area, high-class hotels, and a population that is by nature warm and hospitable.
Virtually each of these benefits likewise provides a compelling reason to buy a Mexico condo or contemporary home on Mazatlan's beachfront, or a more traditional home near the historic city center. With the upcoming increase in business tourism, further investment will be attracted to the city, further increasing the benefits which already exist. Attention and interest in Mazatlan's condo industry are likely to bring appreciation for those who buy soon.
