Reviewing condo options in two of the Pacific Coast's favorite tourism and real estate destinations, Mazatlan and Ixtapa, will give us a taste of the broad variety offered by the this beautiful area of Mexico.
The Pacific Coast is very large, and Mazatlan real estate, located just past the tip of the Baja California peninsula, combines modern beachfront luxury with a beautifully restored colonial city center. Condos in Mazatlan are focused on three areas – one is the Marina area, another is the "Malecon," the oceanfront boardwalk, and a few are also available right downtown in the historic city center. The beauty of owning a Mazatlan condo is that regardless of which location you choose, you will have very close access to the benefits of the others. If you choose a condo in the boardwalk area, you will enjoy the modern luxuries of a beachfront lifestyle, and only a short walk away you will be able to stroll through the charming colonial streets of a traditional Mexican city. Condos in Mazatlan start around $200,000.
Heading down the Pacific Coast, past Puerto Vallarta (another favorite location) about half way to Acapulco, Ixtapa real estate offers all the benefits of being an integrated resort community; it was created in 1972, next to the older, more traditional town of Zihuatanejo, as Mexico's second community of this sort, after Cancun. In Ixtapa a condo with an amazing view of one of beaches considered some of the most suitable for swimming in Mexico can be found for as low as $160,000. Prices from there go up to about $800,000 and beyond, depending on location, style and size.
Mexico's Pacific coast offers many other areas with exploring for condo options. Both Mazatlan and Ixtapa have thriving tourism industries, meaning that condos here will serve well for vacation properties, rental income, investment purposes or even relocating permanently to a place with warmer weather and warmer culture.
