When we imagine owning a Playa del Carmen condo, we imagine the soft white sand and the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean beachfront, as well as the spectacular nature, with its jungles, all of which are a large part of what has made the area famous.

While Playa del Carmen beachfront condos definitely include a warm weather lifestyle at its best with close contact to nature, there is a lot more to discover in the area.

Among the natural discoveries, some of the most spectacular are the “cenotes.”  These are cool pools at the entrance of area’s underground river and cave system, composed mainly of limestone, which has filtered rain water for thousands of years.

While visitors once in a while take the chance to take a tour to one of these pools and caves, residents of Playa del Carmen learn the local secrets, and can enjoy these gems as a regular part of their life, whether you just go for a refreshing swim to balance the heat of the day, or take a guided trip into the fascinating world of stalagmites and stalactites bats and catfish that have never seen the light of day under the earth’s surface. The area near Playa del Carmen includes 100s of cenotes.

Another excellent discovery, although it is hardly secret anymore, is Playa del Carmen’s Fifth Avenue. The late afternoon is the perfect time to take a quiet walk along the mile and a half, where the variety of shops is amazing. In this pedestrian area covered by Italian cobblestone, you can find the finest brands of clothing, accessories, cosmetics and perfumes, as well as many small craft shops, where you find colorful lanterns made from coconut shell, which, with its wide range of bright tones, creating special atmosphere. In addition, you can find the ideal restaurant or places to dance or listen to music.  Fifth Avenue is just one block from the beach, so the sea breeze gives a special touch.

If you decide to buy a Playa del Carmen Luxury Condo, you will have all of this a short walk from your doorstep.  Many luxury condos are available around the newer section of Fifth Avenue known as “Little Italy,” either between Fifth and the beach with spectacular views of the beach, or for more accessible prices, on the other side of Fifth, still only a short walk to beach, past the quaint shops and restaurants.
