Has the recession left you a little more cautious about spending? If you said yes, you are not alone. A recent report on American spending habits indicates that the majority of Americans are spending more frugally, without much confidence in the country's economy. Of course, after the losses that so many people suffered, it's only sound practice to be more cautious, to protect our resources for our future.

There is optimistic news, however. Mexico Retirement provides a means for Americans to continue making sound budget decisions with their money, yet at the same time be satisfied that life's conveniences are still available, and indulge in a few luxuries as well.

First of all, real estate prices in good locations are still available for more limited budgets.

Campeche Real Estate, an area on the Yucatan Peninsula, provides an excellent example. Here you can find Cheap Mexico Beachfront Real Estate – lots which are on virgin beachfront, in fact. There is one development in which the lots have 66 ft of beachfront, and are selling for just under $65,000. Electric connections were being installed in early 2010, and water, telephone and internet are on their way.

The state of Campeche has recently invested large amounts into restoring the colonial city center of its capital, and new luxury condo developments are under construction; the state already has good services and conveniences, and shows every sign of soon having a lot more.

If you want to plan for retirement without compromising your new financial caution, this is an excellent opportunity. A home can be built on the lot for about $100,000 U.S., giving you a vacation home on the beachfront, which you can later use for retirement, at a very low cost. While many people believe that this is a luxury for the rich, you can enjoy this relaxing lifestyle, and still be financially responsible.

You will find that vacations in your new home on the beachfront, and your future retirement alike will also have the benefit of a low cost of life. While over the past decade many new products and stores have arrived on the scene in Mexico, prices have only risen slightly, and many day to day products as well as large-ticket purchases are available for noticeably less than back home. Cheap grocery stores have also appeared on the scene. Some Mexicans consider Wal-Mart to be the expensive choice for foreigners, and Wal-Mart itself has a cheaper chain which sells the same products, with a bit less selection and at a lower price. Many options for beautiful furniture, jewelry and good quality clothes are also available at lower prices.

If you're being cautious with your budget right now, good work! Now let a future Mexico retirement help you stick to that budget even better.
