If you've been considering buying a Playa del Carmen Home, now is perfect time to start searching for and buying that perfect home near the beachfront. Various changes taking place in the area are pointing to a new wave of growth in the near future, and several new or small communities currently offer prices that may not be available later on.

One community worth considering is El Cielo, Spanish for "Heaven." Surrounding with beautiful nature, and with designated green/ecological areas, the community comes very close to earning that name! It is located at the north end of Playa del Carmen, and is only a ten minute drive from downtow. New highway bridges will make the drive to the Sam's and new mall, with a large-screen movie theater, at the south end of town about the same. El Cielo is directly on the beachfront, and the residential area is about a 10 minute walk away.

Within El Cielo one of only two developments currently under construction is Villas Tranquilidad. This development consists of 6 luxury villas, each 3 storeys, with a contemporary design, and a private yard. There is also a shared green space, with a thatched-roof shelter, perfect for barbeques, picnics, or just a relaxing evening, and a pool. These beautiful villas as available for $260,000 U.S. With the pre-construction discount of 25%, they are can be acquired at only $195,000; financing from banks and the seller are available.

The prices in El Cielo are currently lower than the expected future value, since the neighbourhood is still new. With the recent expansion of the Cancun airport (about 45 minutes away) and the area's new focus on becoming an international leader for hosting conventions, together with the upcoming Riviera Maya International Airport, communities such as this one will begin to fill up quickly, and prices may not be so accessible.

Another option for homes in the area to consider is Akumal Real Estate. Akumal is a village about 30 minutes away from Playa del Carmen towards Tulum. Beautiful beachfront homes, as well as properties only a short walk away are available for relatively accessible prices. Very high-level luxury homes can run into the millions, but more affordable properties also exist. Since Akumal is even closer to the new airport, it is likely that demand, and prices, here will be affected more. The village has enough distance from both Playa and Tulum that it will retain its small-neighborhood atmosphere, but at the same time it already enjoys all the benefits of Playa del Carmen only a short drive away, and will enjoy all the up-coming benefits brought by Tulum's future growth.
