Infrastructure Investment in Playa del Carmen

The Playa del Carmen Real Estate market is continually benefiting from infrastructure improvements, such as the highway bridges seen in this video. The video was made at the beginning of April, 2010, and shows the quick progress made in the few months since the project began. The new bridges are on the federal Cancun-Tulum highway, and are over the four main intersections heading into Playa del Carmen's downtown. The bridge system will include ongoing "collector" style lanes on either side to provide access to these and other roads in the area. The bridges will help move traffic that is just "passing through" in order to avoid congestion problems in the future - as of yet, Playa del Carmen could hardly be said to experience congestion; when there's "traffic", it still takes only about 20 minutes to cross the city. The bridges will also add convenience for those living in the city, with easier passage through these main traffic intersections. Also, for those who buy a home in Playa del Carmen's newest development areas, they will make access much easier to stores, etc. on the other side of the city. One example is the luxury homes in Villas Tranquilidad, located in the new "El Cielo" community at the north of the city; buyers of these homes will be able to cross the city by means of these new bridges arriving at Sam's Club or Centro Maya (Playa del Carmen's newest shopping mall with a large screen theater) in 10 minutes or less.
