Parque Xenses: Dare your senses in this new theme park

 

A great thing about Riviera Maya is the amount of activities you can do; from a walk on the beach to a visit in some awesome archaeological site, this zone has everything you need if natural entertainment it’s your main deal. Another good thing about being in touch with such a natural environment is the incredible fun parks that exists, all of them with tons of different experiences, some of them wild, and some of them more chilled… and yeah, Xenses, the new Park in town has just delivered the news of it’s opening in next June. Get to know what is going to offer.

First thing first, what is Xenses? Is a half-day park with more than 15 activities in scenarios that will challenge your mind. Land, air and water experiences designed to revive your senses and, like the Xenses truly says, “Awaken those you didn’t know you had”. For real. Besides, its half-day mode gives you ideal time to return and enjoy the attractions of Cancun and all Riviera Maya if you’re still in the mood for more action. Xenses will also create some sensorial experiences using a lot of natural elements such as water and the same vegetation that exist in the area, all along with visual effects that will come in handy.

Xenses will be located a few kilometers from Xcaret Park with an extension over 40 hectares and will be built into an area called Rancho Xcaret, but be ready, creators expect to have about 1,500 to 3,000 people per day in their facilities.

Now that you´re sync, here’s what you need in order to have an awesome experience: For any visit, wear a swimsuit, water shoes, comfortable clothing, an extra change of clothes and a towel, believe us, you’ll need it. Use sunscreen and insect repellent, you don’t want to see any surprises when you arrive home. Along with your entrance, you get access to lockers, showers and free parking.

Who can come in? Everyone. The park is designed as a family tour; from little kids to older people who want to feel amazing and new experiences. Xenses will be ready in full summer: June 13th . John´s Testimonial: Las Olas, Playa del Carmen

John is the latest person to purchase a property with Top Mexico and is the new owner of a a condo in Las Olas, located in downtown Playa del Carmen. We asked him to tell us his story about how Top Mexico was able to make it happen.

John began looking for property in this area and came across the Top Mexico Real Estate´s website. After sending an inquiry he was contacted by agent Adrian Gibson and they began discussing back and forth about the possibilities available down in Playa. So 6 months later he was down in Playa to meet with Adrian and after getting to know each other briefly he decided to stay with Top Mexico Real Estate in order to find his home.

When he and his wife first came down to begin the property search they not only met with the agent but also the closing coordinator and were taken to a law firm that would represent them. Top Mexico Real Estate answered all of their questions and told them the positives and negatives concerned with owning a property in Playa del Carmen.

How did you find Top Mexico?

It was just a simple search on the internet. I browsed the website, sent a few emails and started conversing and that´s how we decided to stick with Top Mexico.

What made you consider buying a property here?

We´re from Florida and it´s kind of the same, it´s the Caribbean sea. We love the beach, swimming and snorkling, diving and everything to do with the water.

BPM Festival: Bigger Than Ever

With the arrival of the New Year in Playa del Carmen comes one exciting event that attracts thousands of electronic music lovers: the BPM Festival. For the ninth occasion since its launch, this unique electronic music festival returns to the Riviera Maya with a fantastic line up and a lot of promise.

Founded in 2008, the festival has grown into an international gathering of DJs and electronic dance music fans. The festival not only offers an amazing dance music experience, but it also puts you in the perfect winter getaway destination in the picturesque Caribbean coastline.

The festival runs for ten days straight with a one-of-a-kind musical program full of amazing events and a total of 375 international artists present. According to their website, over 60,000 people from 60 different countries attended the festival last year, and with their ever growing worldwide presence, that number is sure to keep increasing. The festival puts Cancun and Las Vegas to shame.

Thinking of the Riviera Maya

The BPM Festival is an eco-friendly, green festival. This is something to highlight due to the amount of effort put into the conservation of the Riviera Maya’s ecosystems and nature. Attendees are asked to lend a hand in the keeping of the beaches and venues by picking up after themselves. “Green Team Stations” will be installed in all their venues to facilitate recycling. In 2015, they collected 185 tons of non-recyclable waste and 4,755 kg of recyclables.

Additionally, this year they are introducing a new BPM crest which spotlights the Black Jaguar (or panther) in an effort to raise awareness of its endangered status.

Playa del Carmen: Seafood Lover’s Paradise

Seafood lovers will have a variety of options to choose from when visiting or living in Playa del Carmen. After all, this was originally a fishing town, and it stays true to its origins with a host of seafood restaurants. There is a wide spectrum of options, from the most economic cevichería to the most luxurious fishery owned by well-known and celebrated Mexican chefs.

True to its nature, Playa del Carmen is going to take you on the culinary experience of a lifetime. Here are some of our staff’s favorite seafood destinations in paradise.

Los Aguachiles

This mouth-watering restaurant has two locations in Playa del Carmen and another two in Cancun and Tulum. The aguachile is a traditional Mexican dish made of shrimp seasoned with chili peppers and lemon juice. Vegetables such as cucumbers and onions are usually added to spice up the flavor. Although that is their famous and most prominent dish, there are a wide variety of seafood options to choose from.

Cocktails, tostadas, ceviche, and tacos are just a handful of the elaborate and exquisite choices from their menu. To compliment your meal order a cold michelada; nothing screams beach time like seafood and a cold beer.

Chiltepin Marisquillos

Quaint, unique and with a pool, this small locally-owned restaurant is the perfect fusion between land and seafood. Located on 34th street, this savory restaurant has little competition to its tempting and pleasant dishes that take you on a journey of excellent taste and texture experiences. Whether you opt for a caldo de camarón (shrimp broth) or a delicious shrimp and chipotle tostada, you are in for an explosion of flavors. For those who love seafood but want to give the land meal experience a go, you can choose from a variety of chicken and beef dishes – hamburgers, fajitas, tacos, and more.

Order an entry of beef nachos to share and follow it with a dish of oysters and settle it in your stomach with a delicious and cold michelada or just a very cool beer (una bien muerta). Chiltepin Marisquillos stands out for its delightful food and gratifying service.

This lovely seafood tavern on Constituyentes Avenue, just two blocks from the ocean, is home to some heavenly dishes that will have your mouth watering in a matter of seconds. With barely two years in the Playa del Carmen scene, this restaurant has quickly made its way up to the top of the seafood favorites. Maybe it’s the shrimp clamato, its shrimp burger or its hefty burritos filled with your choice of meat that has pushed this restaurant to the most recommended in Playa del Carmen. It doesn’t matter what you choose, you’ll be delighted to have tried it.

A fish ceviche accompanied by a cool beer or one of their many fresh water flavors can make an ordinary meal into an extraordinary gastronomical experience.

Well, I’m certainly hungry now! There are a handful of other delish places for seafood lovers, and we’re certain that a stroll down Fifth Avenue or any of its adjacent streets will end in a whirlwind journey of amazing flavors. For other seafood experiences you can try La Fisheria, Blue Lobster or The Freshy Fish & Co, all highly recommended by locals and tourists alike.
